We are the Vancouver, Canada based Paul Latta Dance Studio's & Show Productions Company, "Canada's largest instructors, producers, suppliers and exporters of the finest in authentic Polynesian dance and spectacular entertainment" and home of the 'Top Award Winning' Paul Tavai-Latta Polynesian Dance Champions, under the Direction of Canada's only Masters' Degree Kumu Hula / Ra`atira ( Instructor / Director)

Paul is the Owner / Operator & Director of Paul Latta Dance Studios (Est 1971) and Paul Latta Show Productions (Est 1973) which later expanded to become Paul Latta Enterprises [Dance Studios and Show Productions] (Est 1980). He enjoys and actively works in many capacities in the field of entertainment: Producer / Director, Choreographer / Instructor/ Consultant, Entertainer / MC, Talent Coach, Costumer, Set Designer and Creator, Show Make-Up and Hair Makeover Artist, Commercial Art / Design, Advertising, International Studio, Competition, Festival Consultant & International Dance Judge.

Paul's Hâlau ( School) specializes and offers classes in authentic, contemporary, traditional through modern dances of Hawaii, New Zealand Maori, Samoa, Tonga, Paumotu, Cook Islands and and his trademark….the dances of Tahiti, with additional instruction in the music, costumes, geography, language, culture and customs of all Polynesia.

Paul instructs over 500 - 1,000 students in over 1,500 classes annually, offering top international competition and performance instruction, with a reputation and a commitment to unsurpassed quality and detail. Classes are offered for Pre-schoolers to Seniors, for boys & girls, Private & Group classes in over 5 locations, 6 days a week, throughout the year, from September to June. He teaches in our 'Main Branch' Studio ( Whalley, Surrey) and 5 locations throughout the Lower Mainland including his Private Studio ( for competition solos) in Guildford, Surrey. He also offers popular monthly "Studio Sundays!" Polynesian Dance & Drum Workshops which are open to all - in his Langley Studio, as well as a full range of classes in Vancouver Parks & Recreation locations. In addition, he is always traveling nationally and internationally with his popular "Paulynesia!" all Polynesian workshops! Paul also provides workshops with some of Hawai`i's finest, Merrie Monarch winning Kumu Hula for his dancers to widen their knowledge of Hula.

Paul believes proper instruction encourages and nurtures self-esteem, talent, poise, grace, confidence, self-discipline, and pride, all of which is excellent groundwork for any successful future career!

Paul takes his dancers to perform "Live!" each and every year in Hawai`i for the Outrigger / Ohana Hotels & Resorts and Germaine's Luau. They have been performing 2 shows a day for all the many Ohana Hotels throughout Waikiki and Maui as well as the opening act annually for Germaine's Luau since 1996. They have also been invited as special open act guests on three occasions for 'Tihati's Polynesian Spectacular!' and have also performed "Live!" in Las Vegas (1998, 2000), Mexico (1998), Europe (1988, 1989 & 1991) and 2 International contracts to Japan (1995 & 2001)! They also have successfully competed and won First and Second places in the San Jose 'Tahiti Fete!' (2002) including Paul winning the "Top Overall / Grand Champion Soloist of the Year!" (1995) and the 'Island Dancer of the Year' championship in Rarotonga, Cook Islands (1998)!

They continue to perform internationally and throughout the Greater Pacific Northwest, and teach and most recently for Royal Caribbean Cruises - Hawaii route (2003 & 2004).

One of Paul's most enthusiastic projects is the "International Ethnic Dance Competitions of Canada", which has become one of the largest Ethnic Dance Festivals anywhere!

"Festival Polynesia / Pacific Rim!" (Canada's largest all Polynesian dance competition) originally founded in 1981 welcomes contestants near and far to compete and participate. The festival awards 'Top Award Winning' trophies, and annual Grand Prize performance tours to Hawaii!

At its official premier as a public festival in 1983, Uncle George Naope, the founder of the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival of Hawaii and official Judge of "Festival Polynesia", gave his blessings to the Festival and encouraged Paul to continue his work and his passion. And so, in 1983, "Hula Halau Ma'e Ma'e Kapua O Kahala", the name bestowed by Uncle George to the Hula / Polynesian Division of Paul Latta Dance Studios, was born. After a brief hiatus, the Festival was re-launched in 1994, and is a welcomed new multicultural event show casing the diverse cultures of the Pacific and Canada.

Paul passionately instructs his students in all forms of dance and on the many aspects of the entertainment and dance instruction business. In addition to the dance classes, he incorporates instruction in costuming, music, staging, stage presentation, competing, appearance, and makeovers, to developing careers and opportunities in corporate promotions, International tour / cruise ship contracts, commercial media work, to T.V. & Movie opportunities.

Paul Latta Show Productions, offers over 12 Polynesian, Ethnic & Variety productions to choose from. From our full filled one person "HulaGram!" to the delightful "Aloha Experience!" mini Polynesian cocktail show to our most popular mid sized , mid priced, "Adventures in Paradise!" review to the spectacular "Tamure Tahiti's!" International Polynesian Spectacular. We are also home to the "AZIZ!" Middle Eastern Review! In addition we offer sound systems, DJ's, sound & light shows, decorations, hostesses, and more……

Paul and his Dancers & Co, perform over 300 shows every year locally, nationally and now worldwide, including 3 tours to Europe, (1988, 1989 & 1991) Cross Canada Tours, annual performances in Hawaii, and the South Pacific,(1993,94,96,97,98,99,2000,01,02,04,) Mexico (1998) 2 tours to Japan (1995 & 2001) and here at home for PRIVATE and CORPORATE shows of every description!
